Qatar Airways resumes flights to Adelaide from 16 of August, 2020. Qatar Airways suspended Adelaide service back in March, however, the airline will be touching down in South Australia’s Capital regularly.
Adelaide will be the fifth Australian destination for Qatar to resume flights. The airline will operate 23 passenger flights per week in Australia. Qatar will carry out flights to Australia with the following schedule:
- Adelaide – two weekly flights
- Brisbane – three weekly flights
- Perth – four weekly flights
- Sydney – daily flights
- Melbourne – daily flights
Herewith, Qatar Airways will operate Adelaide’s two weekly flights with its fuel-efficient Airbus A350-900. This Airbus consists of 36 seats in business class and 247 seats in economy class.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker said, “We are excited to resume services to Adelaide, highlighting our ongoing commitment to the Australian market during this difficult period”.
In addition, Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment and Senator for South Australia, Simon Birmingham said, “I am delighted to see the ongoing commitment of Qatar Airways to the Adelaide market.”
Qatar Airways started Adelaide service in 2016 with the first A350 in Australia. After suspending flights because of Covid-19, the airline return to South Australia’s capital again.
