World-class airline Qatar Airways returns to New Zealand and resumes flights from 19 August. This will be the first flight between Qatar and New Zealand since the pandemic began.
Qatar Airways will operate three weekly flights from Auckland to Doha, but not directly. The airline will bypass the flight via Brisbane. Qatar Airways will also connect Auckland to 35 other destinations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia.
However, because of strict entry restrictions in New Zealand, Qatar Airways will only carry passengers from New Zealand, not into the country. These flights aiming the return of travelers and workers to their homes who are stuck in NZ. Furthermore, the Government of New Zealand discourage their citizens to leave the country.
The Auckland-Brisbane-Doha flights will operate with the following schedule:
Qatar Airways will fly on 18 August from Doha to Brisbane and then to Auckland, but without passengers on board.
On 19 of August, the flight QR913 will take off from Auckland at 6:15 pm, will touch down in Brisbane at 8 pm, and after a quick stop for passengers to clear transit security, the flight will continue from Brisbane to Doha at 9:30. The airline will land in Doha the next day at 5:25 am local time.
Qatar Airways will operate flights on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with the same schedule.
